Deutsche Telekom’s “Together” Initiative Brings Climate Change to Life in Miniature

In a striking blend of science, art, and technology, Deutsche Telekom’s “Together” initiative turns the abstract threat of climate change into a vivid, personal experience. Launched in partnership with Hamburg’s Miniatur Wunderland and realized by Hamburg based Curious Company, the project invites the public to witness miniature landscapes transformed by global warming, offering a scaled-down, but emotionally powerful glimpse into a potentially hotter, harsher future.

Visitors to the exhibition can see familiar European landmarks, like Venice, Neuschwanstein Castle, and the Austrian Alps, suffer under rising temperatures, melting permafrost, and extreme weather events. The goal: make climate change visible, urgent, and relatable. “If we can see it, we’re more likely to act,” Telekom states.

Scientific voices such as Prof. Mojib Latif and the German Climate Computing Center back the project, reinforcing the reality and severity of the climate crisis. But “Together” goes beyond warning, it emphasizes action. The campaign outlines eight areas where individuals can contribute to climate protection, from eating a more plant-based diet and reducing fast fashion to supporting sustainable businesses and conserving energy at home.

Deutsche Telekom is also putting its corporate weight behind climate goals. With science-based emissions targets, 100% renewable electricity use, and product redesigns, the company is aiming for climate neutrality across its entire value chain by 2040.

By connecting climate data with human emotion and concrete solutions, Deutsche Telekom hopes to galvanize a broad movement toward a livable, lower-carbon future.
