Hybrid AI Workflow for Lidl Super Bowl Spot
Lidl’s Super Bowl campaign was developed in collaboration with Acht AI Labs and Hyperbowl, using a hybrid AI production workflow that combined virtual production, AI-generated environments, and AI-enhanced VFX in post-production.
The project integrated AI-generated backgrounds into a virtual production setup, while additional AI-driven visual effects were applied during post. According to the production team, generative AI was particularly effective in creating dynamic transitions and expansive wide shots that would have been difficult, time-intensive, or cost-prohibitive using conventional methods.
The hybrid AI workflow enabled a distinctive visual language while meeting the tight Super Bowl delivery schedule. By combining traditional filmmaking techniques with AI-based generation and enhancement, the team accelerated production without sacrificing visual quality.
Many of the large-scale visual elements featured in the film would likely have exceeded both timeline and budget constraints under traditional production models.
